Initial situation
"Wilderness Dürrenstein" and its partners have collected a large amount of scientific data. At the same time the administration is confronted with an emphasis on PR within its field of functions. In February 2010, "Wilderness Dürrenstein" was a main exhibitor at a hunting fair in Wieselburg. Of course a professional presentation is important at public appearances. Maps and the scientific presentation of research data and – results are necessary, inevitable and contemporary. To guarantee efficiency in regard to the work of the administration, a geographic information system (GIS) will be set up for "Wilderness Dürrenstein". Time is convenient, because cooperation has been offered by the Institute of Forest Entomology, Forest Pathology and Forest Protection (BOKU, Vienna): http://www.wabo.boku.ac.at.
The project is carried out in line with the Programme for Rural Development.
Aims of the project:
Establishing a geographic information system for an autonomous work of the administration and an improvement of PR
Increased efficiency and professional appearance at public performances and presentations to introduce "Wilderness Dürrenstein"
Improvement of educational work and PR
